Course Description

This course aims at exploring the History, Nature and Future of Artificial Intelligence from Philosophy and Ethics point of view, and discuss the governance mechanisms and practices of AI. The application domains will cover but not limited to Survelliance,Large AI models, Brain-computer Interfaces, Driverless Cars, Defense AI and ArmsControl, Metaverse and Digital Human, etc. Its objective is to help students realize proper views and approaches to develop future Artificial Intelligence, have deeperanalysis and thoughts on the impact of Artificial Intelligence to the future society, and prevent potential and existential risks, both technically and socially. The course willalso introduce most recent progress on Philosophy, Ethics, and Governance of Artificial Intelligence and encourage students to challenge current ideas and establish new efforts and frameworks. Students are required to have public presentations and discussions.

本门课程旨在从哲学与伦理的视角探讨人工智能的历史、本质与未来，并对人工智能的治理机制进行深入探讨。课程主要目标是帮助学生建立发展未来人工智能正确的观念与途经，深度分析人工智能对未来社会的影响，从技术和社会视角防止人工智能的潜在、甚至是对人类社会可能造成的生存风险。课程还将通过介绍人工智能哲学、伦理与治理的最新进展鼓励学生挑战现有思想和框架。将鼓励学生在课程中发表短演讲、参与讨论。
